I am an investor looking to the Rocky Mountain region for good buys. You comments about Denver are interesting because that is the largest city in this area but I would have to say that the price multiplier for this area is not as good as one imagines- even though it’s way better than neighboring Utah. Just a thought.
Here in the UK the market is stagnant almost everywhere, except for Scotland, where it is believed that prices are being sustained due to nearby oil fields.
Whilst there are bargains to be had in this market with vendors reducing prices to achieve a sale, mortgage lenders are reluctant to lend due to the ‘credit crunch’, and as a consequence, their rates are high. This makes buyers reluctant to commit to buy, therefore houses are simply not selling. The more astute vendors are getting around this by using the services of a fast property buyer.
